The staff were exceptionally helpful and friendly. The room we had was tidy and spacious. The catering provided was varied and tasty,including the breakfast that was provided. The hotel was situated in a quiet spot. it only cost €10 to get a taxi down to Funchal and the hotel did provide a regular bus down on Monday to Friday The views across the bay were beautiful

The facilities were excellent, but what truly stood out for us was the staff. Everyone was exceptional—helpful, attentive, and always in good spirits. The pool was well-maintained, with towels and deckchairs readily available at any time of day. We also had access to the sauna. The hotel is situated away from the town center, making it peaceful and quiet. We loved the garden as well!

Room very comfortable and in peaceful area, excellent breakfast including making items specially requested. The majority of the staff very helpful and polite. Good pool area beds always available. Shuttle bus system to Funchal worked very well but you do need to book in advance both ways. Also we ate one night at the a la carte restaurant which was excellent.

I loved this place: it’s very charming, with lovely grounds, a view out to sea, a tennis court and a nice swimming pool. The room was spacious, the staff were really nice, and the food in the restaurant was good. The setting is ideal for relaxation.

Peaceful family run, 200 yr old Quinta out of the ‘holiday strip hotels’ with all modern conveniences. wonderful large suite and beautiful gardens. Full of antiques and paintings. Excellent food and superb staff. Choice of three places to eat in hotel grounds including separate al a carte restaurant.Hotel runs a minibus to Town . Old fashioned ‘colonial’ charm. absolute gem.
